Kenya Online Restaurant Platform Partners Indian Firm to Expand Foot Print in East Africa

EatOut, a Kenyan based eatery discovery service has partnered DineOut, Indian firm in the launch of a regional restaurant platform dubbed as InResto as they seek to tap a wider market in the regional expansion drive.

According to a report by Business Daily, the partnership will see EatOut launch the Dineout’s restaurant technology platform for their restaurants partners in East Africa that will be rolled out later this year.

“We are excited about bringing inResto to East Africa. Our aim is to continue building on the success of our restaurant festivals and media businesses.

The Dineout team shares our vision and together we are already working closely with some leading local brands, as we gear up for the official launch of the platform later this year,” said EatOut managing director Mikul Shah.

InResto is one of the leading dining out technology platforms in India’s food and beverage industry established to facilitate online orders and deliveries, feedback, marketing communication and white- label apps among quick service restaurants.

According to DineOut, the platform has grown its business into a capacity of processing 30 million seats and managing over 20 million delivery orders monthly which subsequently helped some of its restaurant partners improve operational efficiency by almost 35%.

“We are really impressed by the work done by Mikul’s team and feel that the food and beverage space in Kenya is at the brink of leaping into the big food tech revolution.

“With this partnership, Kenyans can expect more exciting developments in the restaurant scene that will ultimately create a better dining experience for consumers,” said co- founder and head of global growth of Dineout India Vivek Kapoor.

The sector is one of the fastest growing segments in the country with tech solutions expected to further propel the industry into new heights.

Dineout is also set to partner Saudi Arabia’s restaurant consultancy & marketing company, AIM, in the launch of the same platform in restaurants and hotels across Saudi Arabia.

Owned by Times Internet Limited under Dineout, InResto works with over 12,000 restaurants and quick service outlets spread over India, Dubai, Singapore, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar.

In 2017, Kenyan IT multinational Craft Silicon acquired a minority stake in restaurants listing portal EatOut worth US$0.51 million (Sh515m).
