Clicks Voted the Leading Health Retailer by SA’s Youth

Clicks has been voted the Coolest Specialist Health Store in the annual Sunday Times GenNext Awards. The GenNext Awards, now in its 17th year, is the country’s leading annual youth brand preference and consumer behaviour survey focusing on South African youth aged 8 to 30.

Winning this award indicates that Clicks’ efforts to resonate with the youth market are paying off, says Vikash Singh, Managing Executive at Clicks. “We are both honoured and delighted with this result,” he says.

“Our destination stores have been designed to meet the aspirational needs of the youth market by creating theatre around our beauty brands and top trends,” he explains. “We offer the latest gadgets and items from grooming and personal care to oral care and health. We have also introduced a state-of-the art queue management system in our pharmacies as well as smart, high-tech pick-up boxes in-store for convenience.”

Appealing to the youth market requires understanding their needs and then delivering solutions that solve those needs, adds Singh.

“The youth market, in particular, is very focused on purchasing quality brands at the best price. Clicks’ value proposition, which includes our ‘you pay less’ promise and 3 for 2 promotional offers, continues to set us apart in a tough operating environment,” he says.

“As part of keeping ClubCard relevant, we have recently introduced a new vertical card orientation, which will provide better visibility on smart phones, and are continually investing in digital innovation and convenience. This includes personalised deals on the Clicks App and the launch of a new digital WhatsApp enrolment channel scheduled for later in September.”

Clicks is also excited to partner with Vodacom to offer customers access to an enhanced online shopping experience and personalised digital engagement. This supports Clicks’ strategy of extending convenience and differentiation through digital innovation as the first health and beauty retail partner in the VodaPay Super app.

Affordable healthcare has become even more critical in the last 18 months as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Clicks, as South Africa’s largest retail pharmacy chain, is meeting the needs of consumers by offering both expert health advice from experienced pharmacists and primary healthcare professionals at its in-store clinics.

Clicks is also currently the largest private Covid-19 vaccination provider with over 300 sites, and have administered over 615 000 vaccines to date. It recently introduced a new online portal clicks.co.za/covidvaccine for customers to book a vaccination slot rather than wait in lengthy queues.
