Builders Partners with Standard Bank’s UCount to Drive Savings on DIY Renovations and Building Materials

Builders has partnered with Standard Bank UCount nationwide, to offer members more when shopping for Do-It-Yourself (DIY), home improvements or building materials – in-store or online. Standard Bank customers can now earn and redeem UCount Rewards when shopping at Builders. The new partnership makes Builders the only DIY category retailer on the UCount program offering UCount Rewards members the opportunity to take their DIY projects from their ‘to-do’ list to ‘done’ when they spend and save using their UCount Rewards points at any Builders store.

Builders joins sister brands Makro and Game in collaborating with UCount to find better ways to service and support their rewards customers with solutions to better their lives. Standard Bank UCount is a rewards program offered to Standard bank holders to earn points based on behaviours, for example shopping at participating retailers like Makro and Game. These points are converted to cash and deposited in the customer’s UCount reward account. The customer spends points at participating retailers by using their UCount rewards debit card at the till or when purchasing online.

Builders is a leading player in its market with a strong brand, competitive products, and smart strategic positioning of ‘megastores’ and express stores. While UCount has a large customer base comprising of both retail and trade customers. In addition, the building and hardware industry has grown significantly over the last number of years at an estimate of 33% over a 3-year period, growing with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.2% making this partnership timely and key to helping customers navigate the current challenging economic environment.

Through the partnership, UCount rewards members will have increased opportunities to save while they spend and the opportunity to access the wide assortment of DIY solutions offered at Builders including exclusive deals and personalised offers tailored to their needs. Builders will provide access to monthly competitions, birthday discounts and pensioner discounts just to mention a few.
