Shoppers can now benefit from store credit at one of Cape Town’s most sought-after experiential retail stores
RCS, the consumer finance arm of global bank BNP Paribas, has announced its latest partnership with WE ARE EGG, the award-winning, “phygital” concept store that is reimagining the South African retail landscape with its unique collaborative, omni-channel approach. The experiential department store in Cape Town’s Cavendish Square mall has enjoyed significant success since opening its doors in December 2020. To increase accessibility, WE ARE EGG customers now have the opportunity to sign up for and make purchases with a brand-new store card, powered by RCS.
Deven Moodley, Executive of Retail Partnerships at RCS explains that this partnership serves to complement RCS’ overall strategy to increase its customer offering, exposing more niche brands to a wider audience. “The partnership with WE ARE EGG is just the next step for us in evolving our customer experience. Our product will enable customers within a younger, aspiring market segment with access to credit. The store card also creates a new opportunity for the smaller boutique retailers who operate from WE ARE EGG, to provide their customers with a credit offering.”
As a new-generation, “phygital” store, WE ARE EGG combines a traditional brick-and-mortar offering with digitally-powered experiential elements including an interactive consumer app. The store showcases an expertly curated mix of over 150 local and international product offerings across fashion, beauty, home, jewellery, food and wellness, the vast majority of which are locally produced. Following the success of its flagship Cape Town based store, the department store plans to extend its experiential journey to The Zone in Rosebank, due to launch in April 2022.
