Pixie Proves AI is Already Making Everyday Shopping Effortless

  • Just three months after launch, 98% of Sixty60’s Xtra Savings Plus members already use Pixie.
  • Pixie has helped customers add more than four million products to their baskets.
  • One customer completed a R1,500+ grocery shop in just 15 seconds.

Since its launch in April 2026, Sixty60’s AI-powered shopping assistant, Pixie, has rapidly become one of the platform’s most successful product innovations, with millions of personalised shopping interactions helping customers save time on one of life’s most repetitive tasks: grocery shopping.

Available exclusively to Sixty60’s Xtra Savings Plus members, Pixie’s Smart Basket learns every customer’s shopping habits, understands what they are likely to need next and makes grocery shopping increasingly effortless with every order.

Within just three months, 98% of Xtra Savings Plus customers have used Pixie, making it one of the fastest adopted features in Sixty60’s history.

Customers have added more than four million products to their baskets with a simple swipe, while Pixie is also contributing to higher average order values, illustrating the potential of AI-powered personalisation to create value for both customers and the retailer.

So far, Pixie’s number one user has added 730 products to their basket using Pixie’s swipe down to add to basket functionality, with a total value of R36,236.

One customer completed an entire grocery shop in just 15 seconds, adding 10 products to a basket worth more than R1,500, well above the average Sixty60 basket value. That order arrived at her door in just 31 minutes, with the entire shopping journey – from opening the app to receiving the groceries – completed within 60 minutes.

Neil Schreuder, Chief of Strategy and Innovation at ShopriteX, says Pixie’s rapid adoption demonstrates that customers are quick to embrace technology when it delivers tangible benefits.

Talking about AI is one thing, but AI that genuinely saves customers time is another. Every unnecessary tap, search and scroll that Pixie removes is friction taken out of the shopping experience. The more customers use it, the better it understands their shopping habits, making each shop simpler and more intuitive than the last.”
