Pick n Pay will deliver its biggest and strongest Black Friday deals as it moves to offer deals perfectly suited to its customers under its two supermarket brands and growing online presence. Added into the offering this year will be deals offered by its new homeware online shop.
Black Friday has become Pick n Pay’s single largest trading day, with R800m in sales on the actual Black Friday alone last year.
Pick n Pay has used extensive customer research and its Smart Shopper data to organise into two brands that deliver a tailored product to serve customers better. This has now been extended to its Black Friday deals.
“We expect customers to be hunting for even more value as they remain under pressure after a tough year. Many would have their Black Friday shopping list and our detailed knowledge of their needs means we will deliver personalised deals and massive savings on their most sought-after items,” says Andrew Mills, Group Executive: Marketing at Pick n Pay.
Both supermarket brands (Pick n Pay and Pick n Pay QualiSave) will focus on essential everyday groceries – the items customers most want and need. Pick n Pay’s QualiSave stores will have a greater focus on multi and combo commodity deals.
Most of the Black Friday deals will be Smart Price, and customers will need to swipe their Smart Shopper loyalty card to unlock them. A bonus of swiping their card is that customers also earn cash back to spend on their future shopping expeditions.
Customers will be able to shop all Black Friday deals online and delivery slots have been increased significantly for expedient delivery times.
For the first time, customers can now get nationwide delivery on all large-scale purchases, like appliances, on the Pick n Pay Home online shop (www.pnphome.co.za) which launched this month. It will offer free delivery for orders over R500. And, in addition to the Black Friday savings, Smart Shopper customers will get 10% back on all orders to spend on groceries at Pick n Pay. Pick n Pay Home offers a wide array of products for the home that customers could typically find in a hypermarket and an exclusive online-only range of premium kitchenware and homeware items.
Through Pick n Pay’s online shop (www.pnp.co.za), customers can shop for unlimited Black Friday grocery deals and have a team deliver their order to their front door or straight into their kitchen. Delivery slots are as early as the next day, but in selected areas, customers can get same-day delivery if they place their order before 2pm.
Based on last year’s success, Pick n Pay will again run Early Black Friday specials in stores and online in the build-up to its popular Black Friday weekend. Customers will be able to see the latest updates on the Pick n Pay website: www.pnp.co.za/black-friday-2022
The company works months in advance for this important shopping day and plans carefully to ensure sufficient supplies for customers.
“We’ll have massive deals on everyday grocery essentials such as cleaning products, nappies and toilet paper, as well as fresh produce and spoil-yourself items like chocolates and biscuits. We also believe many customers will use our Black Friday deals to get a head start on Christmas shopping, and we’ve added deals for this in particular. Many of our customers save up for special items like tech and appliances – including the popular air fryer – and we’ll have some fantastic deals available.”
“We are delivering a one-stop shop for our customers this Black Friday – everything under one roof or at the click of a button,” concludes Mills.
