In association with UPI (UnionPay International), SBM is the first local bank introducing an innovative payment platform-mPOS (mobile point of sales) in Mauritius. The mPOS technology “MOOV”, powered by SBM is a new and secure service that will allow small traders and dealers to accept payments through credit, debit and prepaid cards by just swiping. SBM is moving forward to further innovate with cashless solutions.
The new service to accept card transactions via Smart Phones or Tablets, will enable small and medium-sized enterprises like retail shops, taxi services, beach hawkers or home delivery to provide their customers with added convenience for payments with the current growth and presence of UnionPay cards in the market. UnionPay card is becoming a payment tool favored by local residents and the mPOS service is expected to bring them more convenient payment experience.
