MyGate and Callpay Collaborate to Offer Telephonic Payment Solution for Contact Centres

MyGate, one of Africa’s largest and fastest growing gateways, and Callpay, an innovative provider of secure payment solutions have collaborated to provide a payment solution that offers secure, telephonic payments in South Africa.

Through this exciting collaboration, companies that require contact centre agents to accept card can now process these transactions through MyGate to the bank. Card payments are processed in a PCI compliant manner through their contact centre agents without the agent hearing or seeing any sensitive card data. At the point of payment, the agent simply delivers a virtual terminal directly to the customer’s mobile device. It can be delivered whilst the customer is on-call and requires no pre-installed application or even data. The customer securely enters their card number using the keypad of their phone. This leaves the contact centre agent free to continue the conversation with the customer while the payment is being made. The agent can follow the complete process and assist the customer where required. All payments are done over the phone, in real-time.

The solution requires no integration into the call centre and is certified PCI Level 1 compliant and certified in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). The solution works seamlessly with MyGate’s comprehensive payment processing, reporting and fraud monitoring system.

JP van der Spuy, CEO of Callpay, stated, “We are looking forward to working with MyGate to provide a comprehensive offering for contact centres in South Africa. MyGate’s payment expertise is complemented by our own experience in secure telephone payments. This is a great opportunity for the two companies to join forces and offer merchants a secure multi-channel payment solution.”

MyGate’s CEO, Dan Edmiston, added: “MyGate is excited to work with Callpay in deploying the latest in contact centre payment technology, as it perfectly synergises with our payment products and services in the local market. We are looking forward to a relationship that ultimately adds more security and peace of mind for our customers.”
